FORMAL HEARING PROCEDURE FOR SIGNIFICANT DISCIPLINE (SWORN AND NON-SWORN PERSONNEL. The following administrative appeal process shall apply to all appeals of discharge, demotion, unpaid suspensions, any reduction in salary, and punitive transfers. Note: a transfer which is not expressly described as corrective/punitive/disciplinary action shall not be considered a punitive transfer. a. NOTICE OF APPEAL: Within seven (7) calendar days of receipt by an employee of Notice of Final Discipline as set forth in Subsection 31.3 above, the employee shall notify the Chief of Police in writing of the employee’s intent to appeal the punitive action. The Notice of Appeal shall specify the action being appealed and the substantive and procedural grounds for the appeal.
