From Extended Permissive Leave. A request by an employee for cancellation of, or early return from, an extended permissive leave may be denied if the school has entered into a contract with a replacement employee. If so denied, the returning employee shall be granted preference for the first open assignment at the school for which he or she is qualified, including an opening created by the expiration of the replacement employee's contract.
