General Guidelines for Negotiating Sessions. The teams may agree to use “Interest Based Bargaining” or the following: Negotiating sessions will be held in a mutually acceptable location. Meetings will be scheduled by mutual agreement of both teams. Unless mutually extended, each negotiating session will end no later than 2 1/2 hours after the beginning time. The beginning time of the next negotiating session will be established at each session. An effort will be made to establish an agenda for the next session that allows room for the consideration of additional topics. Caucuses of 10 to 20 minutes duration will be available to either team upon notification. Either team will inform the other team when there is a need to extend a caucus and estimate the additional time necessary. The right is reserved to take to the membership of the representative bodies any proposals or counter-proposals before agreement is reached. Negotiating sessions will continue until all articles requested by each team have been discussed. Other guidelines deemed necessary may be established by mutual agreement of both teams. Procedures for negotiations will be consistent with current Professional Negotiations Law.
