Common use of Good Employer Guidelines in Respect of Māori Clause in Contracts

Good Employer Guidelines in Respect of Māori. The New Zealand School Trustees' Association and the New Zealand Post Primary Teachers' Association have developed new guidelines to assist boards to meet their good employer obligations in respect of Māori as set out in the State Sector Act 1988. They are available in booklet form. These have been distributed to NZPPTA members and boards of trustees and are accessible on the NZSTA and NZPPTA websites. NZSTA and NZPPTA trust that the parties to this agreement will make use of these guidelines as they work to adopt policies and practices to reflect their employment obligations to Māori teachers and their obligations to recognise the aims and aspirations of Māori.
