Common use of Good Employer Clause in Contracts

Good Employer. 10.1.1 The Ministry undertakes that in all its dealings with its employees it shall act as a good employer. In this regard ‘good employer’ means that employees will be treated fairly, justly and properly in all aspects of employment. 10.1.2 The Ministry is committed to the fair and proper treatment of employees in all aspects of their employment, including the provision of: • Good and safe working conditions • An EEO programme to facilitate the impartial selection of suitably qualified persons for appointment. • A transparent recruitment process. • Recognition of the aims and aspirations, employment requirements and involvement of Maori in the public service. • Opportunities for the enhancement of the abilities of individual employees. • Recognition of the aims and aspirations and cultural differences of minority groups. • Recognition of the employment requirements of women, and persons with disabilities.
