Common use of Higher Class Pay Clause in Contracts

Higher Class Pay. The College agrees to pay extra duty pay only if the employee is assigned and performs work in a higher pay classification for a period of no less than four (4) hours in a workday. When a Bargaining Unit member is asked to perform duties at a higher pay classification, the employee will be paid at a minimum of 120% of his/her regular rate of pay. This provision does not apply during an emergency.
