Rehires. An employee returning to service with the County after a break in service into a classification in which he / she has previously passed probation shall serve a new 6-month probationary period from the date of re-hire.

Rehires. In the event an employee leaves the service of the Employer and within the next two (2) years the Employer re-hires said former employee in the same classification to which assigned at date of termination, such employee shall be placed at the step in the salary range which the employee occupied at the time of the original termination. Such previous time worked shall be included for the purpose of determining eligibility for service steps and longevity pay, and the employee's vacation accrual rate; in addition, the Chief of the Seattle Police Department shall grant sick leave credits in accordance with the rehired employee’s past service time.
Rehires. In the event an employee within the Seattle Police Dispatchers’ Guild bargaining unit transfers to a position outside the bargaining unit or separates from City service and within the next four (4) years is rehired or transferred into the same classification and level to which he/she was assigned at the date of the transfer or separation, such employee shall be placed at the step in the salary range which he/she occupied at the time of the original transfer or separation, or at the top step of the salary range if he/she is brought back at a lower level.
