Hot Water Reset Clause Samples
Hot Water Reset. The energy management system (EMS) was utilized to implement a hot water reset strategy on the heating system at ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇. ▇▇▇▇▇▇ and Pittston Consolidated School. Hot water reset is an automated control strategy designed to reduce fuel consumption by constantly adjusting the boiler hot water supply temperature to match the building heat load requirements. Specifically, the hot water supply temperature is modulated inversely to outside air temperature. The following section details how this strategy is operating at each building. Total savings for the hot water reset equaled $2,493 in realized savings, which is $277 in excess of the guaranteed savings of $2,493 (Table 53). Table 53 – Summary of Hot Water Reset Energy and Cost Savings ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ ▇. ▇▇▇▇▇▇ 1,037 $1,554 $1,398 $155 In order to verify the hot water reset control strategy the boiler status, supply temperature, and outdoor air temperature were continuously trended. The following Table 54 is a summary of the trend results. Table 54 – Summary of Trend Data for Hot Water Reset at Pittston Consolidated School 47.5 155 159 No Data 42.5 161 162 110 37.5 166 163 148 32.5 172 163 157 27.5 178 165 170 22.5 183 No Data 170 17.5 189 No Data No Data 12.5 195 No Data No Data 7.5 201 No Data No Data 2.5 206 No Data No Data -2.5 212 No Data No Data Overall, the hot water reset is better than expected. For outdoor air temperature bins with ‘No Data’ there were not instances when the boiler was on during those temperatures.
