Common use of Housebroken Clause in Contracts

Housebroken. Caretakers must ensure that the assistance animal is housebroken. If the ESA is a cat, it shall be litter box trained and not spray outside the litter box. The litter box shall be located only in a non-carpeted portion of the unit (kitchen or bathroom). An assistance animal that is not housebroken may constitute a default of the Tenant’s agreement in the lease to keep the property neat and clean. In the event of an isolated incident, the Caretaker is responsible for immediately cleaning up and properly disposing of bodily fluids or solid wastes whether indoors or outdoors.
