You are receiving this notice because you reside in a state-financed rental unit that may be eligible for rental assistance. To be eligible, renters must be delinquent in rental payments, the delinquency must be due to COVID-19 related income loss, and the rental unit in which the tenant resides must be state- financed. Your property manager will work with you to determine whether your landlord can apply for rental payments to satisfy any of your unpaid rent. If eligible, your property management company will require you to provide certification that the unpaid rent was the result of COVID-19 related income loss. You will then be notified in writing if the assistance is approved. Landlords are not required to apply for assistance, and assistance is not guaranteed. Approved assistance will cover the unpaid rent accrued between April 1, 2020, and August 31, 2020, and will be based on verification of eligibility and availability of funds.
