Common use of Illness/Bereavement During Vacation Clause in Contracts

Illness/Bereavement During Vacation. The parties agree that an employee who is admitted to the hospital as a bed-patient as a result of illness or injury suffered while on vacation, or if bereavement leave (per Article 15) occurs during an employee’s vacation leave, the employee will be allowed to reschedule such vacation for the number of days equal to the days of such hospital confinement or equal number bereavement leave days. The time spent in the hospital shall be charged to such employee's accumulated sick leave provided that the employee shall provide proof of such hospitalization satisfactory to the Corporation.

The time spent in the hospital shall be charged to such employee's accumulated sick leave provided that the employee shall provide proof of such hospitalization satisfactory to the Corporation.
