Common use of Improvement Clause in Contracts

Improvement. The board agrees to provide upon application and approval, the necessary funds for teachers who desire to attend select professional conferences affiliated with national or state organizations. Travel and per diem shall be deemed appropriate expenses of the school district, as well as the cost of substitute teacher if needed to relieve the participant. A teacher attending such conferences and meetings shall be granted sufficient leave time to attend without loss of compensation. Application will be made to the superintendent for approval via the teacher’s principal. Fifteen (15) days advance notice of the conference will be given except in an emergency. The Superintendent shall respond to the request within five (5) days.
