Common use of Independent Study or Research Clause in Contracts

Independent Study or Research. A leave taken for the 4 purpose of pursuing a program of independent study or 5 research must be related to the present or prospective 6 services of the unit member and must be under the guidance 7 of the District Sabbatical Leave Committee. The program 8 must be equivalent in effort and content to that required 9 under paragraph (a) above, for professional study. A 10 complete plan for such study must be approved by the 11 Sabbatical Leave Committee and filed with the original 12 application for leave.
