Common use of Individual Rights Clause in Contracts

Individual Rights. A. Nothing contained herein shall be construed as limiting the right of any certified employee having a complaint to discuss the matter via administrative channels and to have the problem adjusted without the intervention of the Association. The disposition must not be inconsistent with the bargaining agreement between the Board and Association nor shall such disposition have an adverse impact on the bargaining unit. B. A grievant may be represented at all stages of the grievance procedure by himself/herself, or at his/her option by an Association representative(s) selected by the Association. C. No reprisals of any kind shall be taken against any member of the bargaining unit by the Board or administration for exercising his/her rights under this grievance procedure.
