Common use of Infectious Disease Clause in Contracts

Infectious Disease. The State and CAPT recognize the need to provide all Bargaining Unit 18 employees with training on the transmission and control of infectious diseases. To that end, all Bargaining Xxxx 00 employees shall be provided training in standard precautions. This training may include the following: A. Identification of infectious disease(s) that are specific to the environment in which the employee works; and B. General information regarding these diseases including, but not limited to the following: (a) how the disease is transmitted; (b) symptoms; (c) courses of treatment; and (d) methods and procedures that should be followed to prevent contracting the disease. C. The Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation shall offer Bargaining Xxxx 00 members the same training in infectious disease control and transmission that is offered to other medical and custody staff, provided that the subject matter of the training is directly related to the employee's required scope of practice and work assignment.
