Instructional Day. The Instructional Day shall be a maximum of three hundred (300) instructional minutes commencing with the start of opening exercises or the commencement of classes, whichever occurs earlier, and ending with the students’ dismissal from school for the day, exclusive of recess, lunch and/or nutrition breaks.

Instructional Day. The total number of instructional minutes per school year provided by CONTRACTOR shall be equivalent to the number of instructional minutes established for LEA schools unless otherwise specified within the student’s IEP or ISA, provided the ISA meets the minimum standards for instructional minutes as specified in Education Code. The number of instructional minutes shall be exclusive of recess, lunch, and passing time. For Pre-K through grade twelve (12), unless otherwise specified on the student’s IEP or ISA, the number of minimum instructional minutes shall be as follows: one hundred eighty (180) instructional minutes shall be provided to pre & kindergarten students: two hundred thirty (230) instructional minutes shall be provided to students in grades one (1) through three (3): two hundred forty (240) instructional minutes shall be provided to students in grades four (4) through twelve (12).
Instructional Day. The school day shall not be less than the minimum instructional minutes necessary to comply with State required daily/annual instructional minute minimums.
Instructional Day. Without prior approval of the faculty, no faculty can be assigned contact hours to exceed a contiguous period (span) of seven (7) hours, including meal and travel times. The daily assignment span may be increased where it can be satisfactorily demonstrated to the parties to this Agreement that the extension of the limit is beyond the control of the administration. "Satisfactorily demonstrated" shall mean that courses necessary to maintain a full load are not available within the span, and that mutual agreement has not been reached regarding alternate non- instructional assignments or annualization, provided that the quarterly load was determined according to Section 11.3 below. Nothing in this section is to be construed that: (a) the teaching span must be seven (7) hours in length; or (b) faculty are expected to be on campus for this entire span if their professional duties require their presence elsewhere.

Instructional Day. The instructional day for the elementary buildings will be six and one-half (6 1/2) hours with a forty (40)-minute duty-free lunch period for teachers.
