Knowledge Exchange and Innovation. 5.3.1 HEIs are focusing and prioritising their knowledge exchange and innovation activity on the top priorities of a green recovery, a well-being economy and a just transition to a net zero carbon society. The five interdisciplinary challenges identified within Aberdeen 2040, provide a focus for knowledge exchange and innovation activity aligned to a green recovery, a well-being economy and a just transition to a net zero carbon society. The themes are Energy Transition, Environment and Biodiversity, Social Inclusion and Cultural Diversity, Health, Well-being and Nutrition, and Data and Artificial Intelligence. The University’s priorities for the coming year include: • Expansion of the pump-priming fund, promoting collaboration with stakeholders and partners. • In collaboration with the Net Zero Technology Centre, continue the growth and impact of the industrial engagement strategy of the National Decommissioning Centre, deploying projects and resources aimed at decarbonisation of decommissioning, supporting renewable energy developments and deployment of the simulation suite and tools to accelerate design making for renewable energy. • Expansion of professional services support for business development and innovation to provide a sectoral focus for innovation activity aligned with the priorities of the region. • Maintain and expand a programme of Entrepreneurs-in-Residence aimed at health and wellbeing, energy transition and data science. • Work with partners including Scottish Enterprise, Opportunity North-East and the newly appointed TechScaler to enhance entrepreneurship activity in support of the entrepreneurial campus agenda. • Continue to grow the number and value of new company partnerships, securing funds from schemes aimed at supportive academics. Knowledge Exchange and Innovation. An industry and academic partnership between Dumfries and Xxxxxxxx College and Natural Power has been developed. This collaboration has initiated courses that specifically meet both the needs of the industry and the learner, providing a clear pathway from college to internship to employment. The joint BA Hons for Business between UWS and the college has further developed this year with knowledge exchange between to two institutions for best outcomes. This allows students to develop their interest at school and follow this through to a
Knowledge Exchange and Innovation. Innovation in the curriculum We will continue to be an early adopter of new approaches to curriculum design and delivery. Working with partners, we will leverage opportunities brought about by the Edinburgh and South East Scotland City Regional Deal, in particular related to data. The college will build on our innovative partnerships with companies like Xxxxxxxx Construction and SERS to evaluate vocational courses co-designed with them. Two years ago, we integrated outdoor learning into our childhood practice curriculum and delivered this with children from local nurseries and primary schools in our forest classroom. We have further developed opportunities for outdoor learning that benefit our students, staff and stakeholders, as well as young people in nursery, primary and secondary settings. We enabled three colleges to adopt similar practice in 2020-21 and shared our learning materials and approaches with them to allow our model to be easily replicated. Now that outdoor learning has been integrated into all childhood practice courses, a second forest classroom will be created on campus in 2021-22 to accommodate demand. Further cross-college collaborations over the year between the childhood practice team and curriculum areas such as construction and engineering will enhance the learning experience of all students involved. Innovation in physical and virtual learning spaces In 2020-21, the college repurposed the ground floor of the main campus building to create a modern learning centre with flexible technology-enabled learning spaces for individual and group study. A new Student Association hub was created in the main entrance and a multi-purpose Information Point and Campus Café provide further opportunities to enhance the student experience. The final phase of this project will be completed in 2021-22 with the building entrance being extended and enhanced to offer a larger, improved and flexible circulation space for students. Also completed in 2020-21 was the extension of our engineering workshop by creating an additional floor in the existing workshop and installing equipment that was previously not available at the college. This project will be enhanced in 2021-22 by creating further workshop facilities to meet increased demand from companies to support electrical engineering apprenticeships. Knowledge Exchange and Innovation. Knowledge Exchange and Innovation We are now further developing the readiness application of the School/College digital model including designing training and upskilling for school staff about how the technology can be used We are untilising the JISC Digital Elevator to develop 3 specific goals – • Promoting a culture of dignity, courtesy and respect towards others in the digital environment • Governors can access provider information electronically and can participate in board meetings remotely • Promoting ways of collaborating that change the way staff work and interact with one another in a digital environment We have staff who work across all levels of the college engaging in knowledge exchange and innovation. We are part of a cross college working group looking at the development and resource requirements of micro credentials whilst we are also instramental in developing a digital future for the college sector with our Principal leading the way with JISc and Scotland’s AI strategy. Our teaching and support staff participate in curriculum and industry forums, CDN national networks and a range of working groups looking at the future of learning and teaching to sustainability. Our Director of Estates and Sustainability has attended a number of events to present on and discuss our approaches around our transition to net Zero including speaking at the Big Zero Show. Highlight Activity 22/23 AOC Four Nations Visit – The college were delighted to host the Four Nations College alliance net zero study visit – specifically delivering input regarding how we are embedding sustainability into our curriculum and estates work. Fuel Change – We have been working closely with Fuel Change to credit rate some of their programmes to support sustainable education delivery across the country allowing young people to gain additional SCQF credit rated learning. We will deliver Fuel Change within our Engineering national qualifications to enable our students to provide solutions to real world net zero challenges.

  • TECHNOLOGY/KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER ACTIVITIES The goal of this task is to develop a plan to make the knowledge gained, experimental results, and lessons learned available to the public and key decision makers. The Recipient shall: • Prepare an Initial Fact Sheet at start of the project that describes the project. Use the format provided by the CAM. • Prepare a Final Project Fact Sheet at the project’s conclusion that discusses results. Use the format provided by the CAM. • Prepare a Technology/Knowledge Transfer Plan that includes: o An explanation of how the knowledge gained from the project will be made available to the public, including the targeted market sector and potential outreach to end users, utilities, regulatory agencies, and others.

  • – OWNERSHIP OF THE RESULTS - INTELLECTUAL AND INDUSTRIAL PROPERTY Any results or rights thereon, including copyright and other intellectual or industrial property rights, obtained in performance of the Contract, shall be owned solely by the Community, which may use, publish, assign or transfer them as it sees fit, without geographical or other limitation, except where industrial or intellectual property rights exist prior to the Contract being entered into.

  • Documents & Data; Licensing of Intellectual Property This Agreement creates a non-exclusive and perpetual license for City to copy, use, modify, reuse, or sublicense any and all copyrights, designs, and other intellectual property embodied in plans, specifications, studies, drawings, estimates, and other documents or works of authorship fixed in any tangible medium of expression, including but not limited to, physical drawings or data magnetically, electronically or otherwise recorded or stored, which are prepared or caused to be prepared by Consultant under this Agreement (“Documents & Data”). All Documents & Data shall be and remain the property of City, and shall not be used in whole or in substantial part by Consultant on other projects without the City's express written permission. Within thirty (30) days following the completion, suspension, abandonment or termination of this Agreement, Consultant shall provide to City reproducible copies of all Documents & Data, in a form and amount required by City. City reserves the right to select the method of document reproduction and to establish where the reproduction will be accomplished. The reproduction expense shall be borne by City at the actual cost of duplication. In the event of a dispute regarding the amount of compensation to which the Consultant is entitled under the termination provisions of this Agreement, Consultant shall provide all Documents & Data to City upon payment of the undisputed amount. Consultant shall have no right to retain or fail to provide to City any such documents pending resolution of the dispute. In addition, Consultant shall retain copies of all Documents & Data on file for a minimum of five (5) years following completion of the Project, and shall make copies available to City upon the payment of actual reasonable duplication costs. In addition, before destroying the Documents & Data following this retention period, Consultant shall make a reasonable effort to notify City and provide City with the opportunity to obtain the documents.

  • Confidentiality and Intellectual Property 6.1 You must not disclose to any other person or entity any confidential information belonging to the Group or any of its divisions, customers, suppliers or collaboration partners (including, without limitation, this Contract, specifications, formulae, manufacturing processes, know-how and any technical or economic information) or use such information for any purpose except for the supply of goods and/or services to us or as expressly authorised in writing by us. You must return to us such information and any copies if requested.

  • CERTIFICATION REGARDING CERTAIN FOREIGN-OWNED COMPANIES IN CONNECTION WITH CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE (Texas law as of September 1, 2021) By submitting a proposal to this Solicitation, you certify that you agree to the following required by Texas law as of September 1, 2021: Proposing Company is prohibited from entering into a contract or other agreement relating to critical infrastructure that would grant to the company direct or remote access to or control of critical infrastructure in this state, excluding access specifically allowed by the Proposing Company for product warranty and support purposes. The company verifies and certifies that company will not grant direct or remote access to or control of critical infrastructure, except for product warranty and support purposes, to prohibited individuals, companies, or entities, including governmental entities, owned, controlled, or headquartered in China, Iran, North Korea, Russia, or a designated country, as determined by the Governor.

  • Ownership and Intellectual Property 15.1 Any and all information, property or materials disclosed to Supplier remains the property of Customer. Supplier is not entitled to make use of or refer to any trademark, trade name, domain name, patent, design, copyright, or other intellectual property right of Customer or any of its Affiliates, unless prior obtained written consent of Customer. Any authorized use shall be strictly in accordance with the instructions and for the purposes specified.
