Common use of Laundering and Uniforms Clause in Contracts

Laundering and Uniforms. The work clothing or other special articles that the Employer requires employees to wear for reasons of safety or cleanliness shall be supplied by the Employer. An employee who is required to wear a uniform prescribed by the Employer must maintain it at their own expense, provided that the uniform is made to measure and is made of easy-to-maintain fabric (permanent press). Where the type of work done by an employee requires the use of smocks or protective clothing including bakery whites/aprons, the Employer agrees to supply, launder and repair same at no cost to the employees.
