Leave Because of Family Illness. A. Employees may be absent from work with full pay based upon their regularly scheduled workday, to attend to the illness of a member of their immediate family. Such absences shall be deducted from the employee's accumulated sick leave. B. Employees must provide, in writing, an explanation of the circumstances of the relative's illness and why it was necessary for the employee to attend to the relative.
