Common use of Leave for Board of Directors Clause in Contracts

Leave for Board of Directors. An employee who is elected to the Board of Directors of the Ontario Nurses’ Association other than to the office of President, may be granted leave of absence without pay. Requests for such leave will not be unreasonably denied. During such leave of absence, an employee’s salary and applicable benefits shall be maintained by the Employer and the Union agrees to reimburse the Employer for the cost of the employee’s salary and applicable benefits during the period of the leave. There shall be no loss of seniority for the purposes of salary advancement or vacation entitlements or other benefits during such leave of absence. Leave of absence for Board members of the Ontario Nurses’ Association will be separate from the Union leave provided in Article 12.02.
