Common use of Leave for Childcare Emergencies Clause in Contracts

Leave for Childcare Emergencies. Employees who must miss work due to unforeseen childcare emergencies may charge their absence to any accrued paid leave or to unpaid leave under the following conditions. Unpaid leave requests for unforeseen childcare emergencies will go through the Leave Without Pay approval process as defined by Article 22, Leave Without Pay. Employees using leave due to childcare emergencies are not required to obtain advance approval prior to using leave, but must notify their supervisor of their absence as soon as possible prior to the start of their scheduled shift.
