Leave for Good Cause. (a)--Leaves of absence for reasonable periods not to exceed one (1) year will be granted without loss of seniority for good cause, such as personal illness or accident, death or serious illness in the immediate family, pregnancy, jury duty, National Guard or military reserve training and elective or appointive public office, and such leaves may be extended for like cause.
