Common use of License Renewal Clause in Contracts

License Renewal. A contract of employment issued by the Board and signed by a teacher shall be null and void if, by July 1, the teacher fails to provide the Superintendent a copy of a valid Vermont educator license for his/her assignment for that school year. This deadline shall be extended by the Superintendent (only as permitted under state laws and regulations) if the teacher provides documentation that s/he has done everything s/he needs to do to become licensed prior to May 1 and the delay is at the VT Agency of Education. The Superintendent may also extend the deadline due to other extenuating circumstances outside of the teacher’s control.
