Licensure Requirements. Anything in this article to the contrary notwithstanding, a teacher to be retained shall be fully licensed and legally qualified as required by the regulations and/or guidelines of the Illinois State Board of Education and any qualifications set forth in the job description for the teaching position as provided in the School Code or such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
