Common use of Long Term Disability Income Insurance Clause in Contracts

Long Term Disability Income Insurance. a. Long term disability insurance will be provided at no cost to all unit members working a minimum of seventeen and one half (17 1/2) hours per week. Employees who are totally disabled as determined by the insurance company will receive two-thirds (2/3) of their monthly salary to a maximum monthly benefit of seven thousand dollars ($7,000). Benefits will begin on the later of the ninety-first (91st) calendar day of disability or at the end of their sick pay. Benefits will continue for as long as the employee remains disabled, with a maximum duration as defined by Age Discrimination and Employment Act – B (ADEA-B) (Extended). Please refer to the insurance contract for this benefit duration schedule. b. Specific eligibility requirements and benefit coverage shall be in accordance with the master plan administered by the District.
