Loopback (Optional) Sample Clauses

Loopback (Optional). The CFP4 module may optionally support loopback functionality. Loopback commands are accessed via the MDIO management interface. Recommended loopback orientation implementation is TX0 to RX0. The host loopback and the network loopback are oriented per Figure 4-2 shown below. The capability to support the loopback functionality is dependent upon the interface IC technology, labeled as “Interface IC(s)” block in the figure. The CFP MSA module vendor will specify which loopback functionality, if any, is supported. For details on controlling the loopback mode, please refer to Ref. [3].

Loopback (Optional). The CFP2 module may optionally support loopback functionality. The capability to support the loopback functionality is dependent upon the interface IC technology, labeled as “Interface IC(s)” in the figure below. Recommended loopback orientation implementation is TX0 to RX0. The host loopback and the network loopback are oriented per Figure 4-2 shown below. The CFP MSA module vendor will specify which loopback functionality, if any, is supported. For details on controlling the loopback mode, please refer to Reference [7]. In optional loopback, TXn is looped back to RXn, for example TX0+ to RX0+, on both host and network side. Figure 4-2: CFP2 Module Optional Loopback Orientation
Loopback (Optional). 5 The CFP module may support loopback functionality. Loopback commands are accessed via the MDIO 6 management interface. Suggested loopback orientation implementation is TX0 to RX0. The host loopback 7 and the network loopback are oriented per Figure 4-2 shown below. Host loopback loops the „M‟ host lanes. 8 Network loopback loops the „N‟ network lanes. The capability to support the loopback functionality is 10 block is application dependent. If PRBS checkers and generators are supported, they will be located in the 11 “Gearbox/CDR” block. The CFP MSA module vendor will specify which loopback functionality, if any, is 12 available. For details on controlling the loopback mode, please refer to “CFP MSA Management Interface 13 Specification”. 15 Figure 4-2: Optional Loopback Orientation
