Common use of Lower-than-Expected Indirect Costs Clause in Contracts

Lower-than-Expected Indirect Costs. If the Recipient’s actual allowable indirect costs are less than those budgeted in Attachment 3 to this Award, the Recipient may use the difference to pay additional allowable direct costs during the project period. If at the completion of the award the Government share of total allowable costs (i.e., direct and indirect) is less than the cost reimbursed, the Recipient must refund the difference.
