Common use of MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS Clause in Contracts

MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS. The Design-Build Firm shall: Comply with manufacturer’s requirements for the handling, delivery, storage, and installation of all materials, and equipment. Where required by the Contract Documents, Design-Build Firm shall submit manufacturer’s printed instructions for delivery, storage, assembly, and installation. Comply with the manufacturer’s applicable instructions and recommendations for the performance of the Work, to the extent that these instructions and recommendations are more explicit or more stringent than requirements indicated in the Contract Documents including the Contract Documents. Inspect each item of material or equipment immediately prior to installation and reject damaged and defective items. Provide attachment and connection devices and methods for securing the Work; secure Work true to line plumb and level, and within recognized industry standards; allow for expansion and building movement; provide uniform joint width in exposed Work; arrange joints in exposed Work to obtain the best visual effect and refer questionable visual effect choices to the Consultant for final decision when applicable to the Work. Recheck measurements and dimensions of the Work, as an integral step in starting each portion of the Work. Install each unit or section of Work during favorable weather conditions, which shall ensure the best possible results in coordination with the entire Project(s) and isolate each unit of Work from incompatible Work as necessary to prevent potential interference among each section and/or deterioration of equipment. Coordinate enclosure of the Work, which requires inspections and tests so as to minimize the necessity of uncovering Work for that purpose. When required by the Contract Documents or the manufacturer, a qualified representative shall be present to observe field conditions, conditions of surface and installation, quality of workmanship, and applications. Manufacturer’s representative shall provide the Design-Build Firm and the Project Manager a written report of field observations.
