Should a medical status change be reportedare generated and reviewed monthly by the Employment Principal, the individual will be given a medical form to be returned in 10 calendar days. Most individuals are required to participate up to 40 hours of work activities per week. HoweverEmployment supervisors, this may vary depending on different case types and each individual's circumstances. For example, a single mother with children under the age of 6 may only be required to participate in 20 hours of work activity per week. A person coded as work limited may only be required to participate in work activities within limitations and for the number of hours indicated on medical documentation. Individuals are scheduled for work experience according to the number of hours available as determined by their cash assistance and food stamp grants. Individuals are given timesheets to be completed and submitted at least monthly, by the fifth case managers. The W.I.B. will provide continuous outreach to local employers to increase our numbers of the following month. The remaining SN and FA applicants who are non-exempt are referred to the HHS job search. For job search, non-compliance is tracked for no shows, incomplete job search and falsification of job search logs. All adult applicants may be referred for TABE testing. Other referrals may include Career Exploration, Best Plus, Alcohol and Substance Abuse Assessment, and FEDS. All of the above referrals for eligibility activities are tracked by the case managers/examiners to ensure that denials have been processed for applicants who do not comply with applicant job search and assessment activities. The initial goal is to divert a TANF case from opening by providing appropriate job referrals & leads during the initial client meetings. During the applicant period the E&T Specialists will work with the client on mitigating barriers, addressing job readiness {including application preparation, resume creation, interviewing skills, etc.}, and completing several sections of the assessment prior to the case opening. The E&T Specialists will meet weekly with non-exempt clients to review their applicant Job Search logs {assignment of 6 completed & submitted job applications or interviews} and develop the clients employment plan {The employment plan will include both short and long term goals}. Clients may engage in activities, other than work experience, immediately {i.e.: vocational education}. The time period between case opening and work experience assignment is typically no more than 2 weeks. When there is a status change from exempt to non-exempt, the client will be scheduled to meet with an E&T Specialist within one week {typically the client is notified of this change in person but may be told via the phone, introduced to their new E&T Specialist and provided a follow up appointment while at the Employment Unit agency}.
