Minimal Selection Criteria for Mentor Teachers. A. Preferably, the applicant must have tenure status and have a minimum of three (3) consecutive years of teaching experience in the district. B. The applicant must be able to demonstrate above average teaching performance and demonstrate an awareness of instructional methods and the professional responsibilities needed to improve teaching skills and increase student learning. C. The applicant must hold valid teaching certificate/license and should currently be teaching in the same building and/or grade or subject area. D. The applicant should demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development. E. The applicant must have completed the State Adopted/ESC/District Training.
