Monitoring and Avoidance. The Lessee must inform the Qualified Marine Archaeologist that he or she may elect to be present during HRG surveys and bottom-disturbing activities performed in support of plan (i.e., SAP and/or COP) submittal to ensure avoidance of potential archaeological resources, as determined by the Qualified Marine Archaeologist (including bathymetric, seismic, and magnetic anomalies; side scan sonar contacts; and other seafloor or sub-surface features that exhibit potential to represent or contain potential archaeological sites or other historic properties). In the event that the Qualified Marine Archaeologist indicates that he or she wishes to be present, the Lessee must reasonably facilitate the Qualified Marine Archaeologist’s presence, as requested by the Qualified Marine Archaeologist, and provide the Qualified Marine Archaeologist the opportunity to inspect data quality.
