Mutual administrative assistance. 1. The Contracting Parties shall supply to each other, either on their own initiative or on request, any informa- tion to prevent the diversion of controlled substances to the illicit manufacture of narcotic drugs or psychotropic substances or shall investigate cases of suspected diver- sion. Where necessary they shall adopt appropriate precautionary measures to prevent diversion.
