Non-Scheduled Appointments. OCR recognizes that, due to the nature of dialysis treatment, non-scheduled appointments will be a rare occurrence for ADC. However, in the rare instance that a non scheduled encounter occurs with a deaf or hard of hearing Patient and/or Companion, ADC shall assess the Patient’s and/or Companion’s communication needs, and make an appropriate auxiliary aid or service available. If it is determined that a sign language interpreter is necessary for effective communication, ADC shall provide an interpreter to the Patient and/or Companion within two hours.
