Common use of Notice and Education of Employees Regarding Drug and Alcohol Testing Clause in Contracts

Notice and Education of Employees Regarding Drug and Alcohol Testing. All employees will be informed of the Police Department's drug and alcohol testing policy before testing is administered. Employees will be provided with information concerning the impact of the use of drugs and alcohol on job performance. In addition, the employer will inform the employees of the manner in which the tests are conducted, the reliability of the tests performed, under what circumstances employees will be subject to testing, what the test can determine, and the consequences of testing and the consequences of testing positive for illegal drug use or alcohol abuse. All new employees will be provided with this information when initially hired. No employees shall be tested until this information has been provided.
