Employee Access to Personnel File. An employee shall have the right to read and review his/her personnel file on reasonable notice and by written request to the Human Resources Manager. An employee may request and shall receive a copy of any record or document contained in the employee’s personnel file.

Inspection shall occur at a time and in a manner acceptable to the employee and Employer. The employee may be accompanied by a FOP/OLC representative at such inspection. The Chief of Police (or designee) may be present during the review.

Each employee shall have access to and be able to view her individual personnel file upon request, in the presence of a manager or member of the Human Resources department, at a location that is mutually agreeable. The employee will be provided up to one (1) hour paid time to view her file. Alternatively, the Board may provide a photocopy of the contents of the file to the employee. The Board agrees to provide photocopies of materials from the employee file to the employee upon request.
