NOTICE TO BE GIVEN BEFORE WORK IS COVERED UP. The contractor shall give not less than 10 days notice in writing to the Engineer-in-Charge or his subordinate in-charge of the work before covering up or otherwise placing beyond the reach of measurement any work in order that the same may be measured and correct dimensions thereof may be taken before the same is so covered up or placed beyond the reach of measurement and shall not cover up or place beyond the reach of measurement any work with the consent in writing of the Engineer-in-charge or his subordinate in charge of the work and if any work shall be covered up or placed beyond the reach of measurement, without such notice having been given or consent obtained, the same shall be uncovered at contractor's expense or in default thereof no payment or allowance shall be made for such work or of the material with which the same was executed.
