NOTIFICATION AND VALIDATION. The Company may require satisfactory evidence of an employee's illness or disability before sick leave will be granted. If an employee abuses the sick leave provisions of this Agreement by misrepresentation or falsification, the employee shall restore to the Company all sick leave payments received as a result of such abuse. An employee must notify their supervisor or a member of management, or see that their supervisor is notified, as soon as it is apparent that the employee will be unable to report for work. The employee must provide this notification before the beginning of the normal work day. The employee should notify the supervisor as far in advance as possible of the expected date of return. Lack of notification without a reasonable explanation will result in denial of sick pay benefits.
