Notification of Arrests or Charges Filed Against School Personnel. The parties acknowledge that procedures already are in place that require prosecutors to provide notifications of indictments or convictions of public employees to the Division of Criminal Justice, which are then transmitted to the appropriate public agency. However, no notifications are required during the period between the filing of a complaint and an indictment, creating a period of time during which school administrators may be unaware of charges pending against school personnel, which may have an impact on their fitness for carrying out official duties. Therefore, it is agreed that whenever a law enforcement agency files a complaint or summons for one of the offenses listed in Article 8.
