Notification – Posting. Examination notices for all competitive promotion classifications shall be posted on the bulletin board throughout the Department for a minimum of thirty (30) days prior to the examination date. Subjects to be covered in the written examination shall be posted thirty (30) days prior to the examination date. Employees eligible to compete shall submit their letters of intent to participate to the Sheriff no later than fifteen (15) days prior to the examination date.

The notification posting will contain the date/time for the test.
B. Eligible applicants shall submit their requests to be considered for the promotion to the Police Chief in writing no later than 15 calendar days after the notification of the examination for the position of Sergeant is posted. If an employee is not working during the entire 15 calendar day notification period, the employee will automatically be placed on the eligible list for the promotional opportunity.
