Objective and Outcomes. The objective of this Agreement is to overcome the entrenched inequality faced by too many Aboriginal and Xxxxxx Strait Islander people so that their life outcomes are equal to all Australians. The Parties commit to mobilising all avenues and opportunities available to them to meet the objective of this Agreement. The outcomes of this Agreement are: a. Shared decision-making: Aboriginal and Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Islander people are empowered to share decision-making authority with governments to accelerate policy and place-based progress on Closing the Gap through formal partnership arrangements. b. Building the community-controlled sector: There is a strong and sustainable Aboriginal and Xxxxxx Strait Islander community-controlled sector delivering high quality services to meet the needs of Aboriginal and Xxxxxx Xxxxxx Islander people across the country.
