Common use of “On Duty ” Response Clause in Contracts

“On Duty ” Response. Those Bargaining Unit members in an “On Duty” status will verbally respond to a notification immediately upon receipt. Once the Bargaining Unit member verbally responds, they must report to the Service Center within thirty- five (35) minutes. Failure to respond, verbally and/or physically, to a notification while in “On Duty” status will result in a forfeiture of “On Duty” pay for that day. Should the report time be greater than 45 minutes from the time of the call employees will begin being paid at the time they report and clock in, and not from the time of the call. Failure to respond to a notification twice in one (1) seven (7) day period, while in “On Duty” status, may result in the Bargaining Unit member being barred from “On Duty” status for no longer than two (2) consecutive weeks.
