Safety Responsibilities. Contractor will adhere to all applicable CalOSHA requirements in performing work pursuant to this Agreement. Contractor agrees that in the performance of work under this Agreement, Contractor will provide for the safety needs of its employees and will be responsible for maintaining the standards necessary to minimize health and safety hazards.
Safety Responsibilities. Although the Architectural Designer does not have direct safety responsibilities on the Project, it is expressly understood that the requirements of safety in conduct of the work to be performed hereunder shall be fundamental to the execution of the Architectural Designer’s work. The Architectural Designer shall perform its work with due regard to the safety of persons and property. It is a condition of this Contract, and the Architectural Designer agrees, that the Architectural Designer shall not require its employees employed in the performance of this Contract to work in surroundings or under working conditions which are unsanitary, hazardous or dangerous to personal health and safety, as determined under any applicable OSHA regulations. Applicable safety laws, rules and regulations, and codes shall be observed by the Architectural Designer and its Subconsultants. It is the responsibility of the Architectural Designer to ensure that the work of its employees and Subconsultants required hereunder is performed in a safe and workmanlike manner and in compliance with general safety standards for the performance of such work. The Architectural Designer must ensure that all its personnel are able to adhere to applicable safety laws, rules and regulations, and codes. Safety deficiencies shall be brought to the attention of the School District and the Construction Management Firm.
3.22.1 The Architectural Designer’s personnel shall wear a hard-hat, long pants, shirts and proper footwear while on the Project site. Appropriate eye protection is required when there is a potential for a foreign object to enter an employee’s eye. All School District Projects shall have a 100% physical fall protection requirement for working at heights of six feet or more above a lower level. The Architectural Designer is expected to fully comply with the Project physical fall protection requirement. The Architectural Designer’s personnel shall complete a Project Safety Orientation. The Architectural Designer’s personnel shall comply with identification badge requirements. The Architectural Designer’s personnel are prohibited from use and possession of alcoholic beverages, drugs (other than prescription), carrying weapons or ammunition onto the Project jobsite. The School District’s Project Manager and the Construction Management Firm shall be notified in writing within 24 hours of occurrence if any Architectural Designer personnel are injured on the Project.

Teachers shall be responsible for reporting unsafe objects or conditions to the building principal as soon as reasonably possible upon learning of same and to take such action as a reasonably prudent person would take in the same or similar situations. Teachers shall not be required to work under recognized unsafe or hazardous mechanical conditions.

It shall not be a violation of this Agreement for a bargaining unit employee to refuse to work under unsafe circumstances which could pose an immediate threat of serious personal bodily injury or the threat of significant property damage. Any employee believing that such a situation exists shall immediately notify the appropriate xxxxxxx.
Safety Responsibilities. 1.1 The City shall make a good faith effort to provide and maintain a safe and healthful place of employment.
1.2 Unit members shall perform their assigned duties safely using the practices, means, methods, operations, and processes prescribed by any law, occupational safety or health standards, safety orders, or safety rules and regulations. Unit members shall report any unsafe practices, equipment or hazardous conditions promptly to their immediate supervisor.
1.3 The City shall not require nor permit any Unit member to go to or be in any employment or place of employment not reasonably safe and healthful.
1.4 The City shall not discipline any Unit member for refusing to perform tasks in the performance of which any law, occupational safety or health standard, or safety order would be violated; if such violation would create a real and substantial risk of harm to the Unit member.

Each individual staff member is expected to follow the requirements and identify personnel who deviate from them and report such action to their supervisor.
