Common use of Operator Services (OS) and Directory Assistance (DA) Clause in Contracts

Operator Services (OS) and Directory Assistance (DA). OS for local and toll assistance (for example, call completion, busy line verification and emergency interruption) and DA (e.g., 411 calls) are provided as a part of Exchange Services offered for resale. GTE may brand this service as GTE. UTI will be billed in accordance with GTE’s retail tariff. 5.6.1 If UTI requests branding or unbranding, GTE will provide such unbranding or rebranding with UTI’s name. 5.6.2 UTI will be billed a charge for unbranding or rebranding and customized routing. 5.6.3 For those offices that UTI has requested GTE to rebrand and/or unbrand OS and DA, GTE will provide it where GTE performs its own OS and DA service subject to capability and capacity limitations where customized routing is Currently Available. If GTE uses a third-party contractor to provide OS or DA, GTE will not provide branding nor will GTE negotiate it with a third party on behalf of UTI. UTI must negotiate with the third party. In these instances, UTI will need to purchase customized routing and dedicated trunking to differentiate its OS/DA traffic from GTE’s.
