Common use of Operator Services (OS) and Directory Assistance (DA) Clause in Contracts

Operator Services (OS) and Directory Assistance (DA). Operator Services for local and toll assistance (for example, call completion, busy line verification and emergency interruption) and Directory Assistance (e.g., 411 calls) are provided as an element of Exchange Services offered for resale. GTE may brand this service as GTE .DSL will be billed in accordance with Appendix C. 5.6.1 If DSL requests branding or unbranding, GTE will provide such unbranding or rebranding with DSL’s name pursuant to Article VII, Section 12. 5.6.2 DSL will be billed a charge for unbranding or rebranding and customized routing as set forth in Article VII, Section 10.4 and additional charges specified in Article VII, Section 11.4. 5.6.3 For those offices that DSL has requested GTE to rebrand and/or unbrand OS and DA, GTE will provide it where GTE performs its own OS and DA service subject to capability and capacity limitations where customized routing is Currently Available. If GTE uses a third-party contractor to provide OS or DA, GTE will not provide branding nor will GTE negotiate it with a third party on behalf of DSL. DSL must negotiate with the third party. In these instances, DSL will need to purchase customized routing and dedicated trunking to differentiate its OS/DA traffic from GTE’s.
