Optical Switches Sample Clauses

Optical Switches. ‌ An optical-to-electronic-to-optical (OEO) conversion is required in the current networking equipment in order to convert optical signals to electrical ones so that they can be amplified, regenerated or switched, and then reconverted back to optical signals. The capacity bottleneck caused by electronic switching can be avoided in optical networks utilizing the all-optical switching fabrics. The absence of OEO conversion is the characteristic of all-optical switch networks [10].
