Opting Back In. If a deputy elects to become firearms qualified, the deputy must wait until the next scheduled shoot to attempt to re-qualify. Deputies wishing to opt back in, must submit their request in writing to Administration at least two weeks prior to a scheduled qualification shoot. Remedial Training Remedial training is defined in the agency policies. Remedial training will only be given to deputies who are qualified at the time of the shoot and fail to qualify. Any deputy requiring remedial training more than once in a twenty-four (24) month period, will be considered unqualified and must wait until the next scheduled shoot to attempt re- qualification.

Opting Back In. 5.9 Any person who has filed an Authorization Opt-Out may apply for Settlement Benefits under the Agreement by filing a valid and timely Claim Form and signing a formal release and waiver in favour of the Releasees. The signatories of such releases will not be counted as valid as opt-outs for purposes of assessing the Opt-Out Threshold.
