Common use of Optional Meeting Clause in Contracts

Optional Meeting. Following receipt of the decision of the supervisor at Step 1, or Step 2, the Union and the City may mutually agree to convene a consultation meeting of the grievor, the Union President or Vice President or designate, and Union assigned Xxxxxxx with the Manager of Employee Relations or designate and the supervisor as soon as possible. The purpose of the meeting is to expedite and resolve the grievance. In the event this meeting is convened, the time limits for proceeding will be extended to accommodate this consultation meeting. This meeting is optional, not mandatory, and requires the mutual agreement of the parties.
