Common use of Orientation of Newly Hired Nurses Clause in Contracts

Orientation of Newly Hired Nurses. During the orientation of newly hired nurses, the Medical Center shall provide an Association representative with a 30-minute period to discuss the Association. This period will be paid time for the newly hired nurses and the Association representative. The Association representative, if a bargaining unit nurse, will be paid at the regular rate of pay for the assigned 30-minute period. The paid time will not count toward premium or overtime pay. The Medical Center will cooperate in releasing an Association representative, if a bargaining unit nurse, from duty to attend such meeting, and the Association will cooperate to provide an alternate representative where such release would cause staffing problems for the Medical Center.
