Common use of Orientation Program Clause in Contracts

Orientation Program. (a) Newly employed nurses shall have a one (1) week planned orientation period which shall include a system of classroom and on-the-job orientation. (b) Planned orientation shall be provided for all three (3) tours of duty, and shall include adequate preparation to assume the role of Nurse-in-Charge on all three (3) tours of duty. "Adequate preparation" shall be defined as on-the-job experience under the direct supervision of the Director of In-service Training or an experienced Nurse-in-Charge, and shall not alter the current staffing pattern of the unit. This shall apply to both full-time and part-time employees.
