In-Service Program. When employees are required to attend compulsory in-service programs outside of the employees’ normal hours of work, all such time in attendance shall be paid at the applicable overtime rate.
In-Service Program. A. The Employer and the Association shall establish a joint committee to plan for and implement a local in-service program.
B. Any in-service recommended by this committee beyond the contractual in-service time shall be held on a shared-time basis and approved by both parties.
C. All system-wide in-service programs before and/or after regular Teacher work day must be mutually agreed to by the FEA and the Employer.
D. System-wide in-service programs in which consultant fees are to be shared between the Employer and the FEA must be mutually agreed to by the FEA and the Employer.
In-Service Program. Both the Employer and the Union recognize their joint responsibility and commitment to provide and to participate in, in-service education. The Union supports the principle of it's members responsibility for their own professional development and the Employer will endeavour to provide programs related to the requirements of the Employer. There shall be an ongoing in-service educational program which shall include conferences and workshops designed to promote the nurses' professional development. When a nurse is on duty and authorized to attend any in- service program during her regularly scheduled working hours, she shall suffer no loss in regular pay. When a nurse is required by the Employer to attend courses outside of her regularly scheduled working hours, she shall be paid for all time spent in attendance on such courses at her regular straight time hourly rate of pay.
In-Service Program. The Hospital agrees to maintain a 25 continuing in-service education program for all nurses covered by this 1 Agreement. Reasonable notice shall be given for regularly scheduled in-service 2 education programs whenever possible. When reasonably possible, the Hospital 3 shall make in-service education programs available to nurses on all shifts. In the 4 event a nurse is required by the Hospital to attend in-service education functions 5 outside their normal shift, the nurse will be compensated for time spent at such 6 functions at their applicable rate of pay, including applicable differential, and 7 overtime, if appropriate, for hours worked.
In-Service Program. (a) Both the Hospital and the Union recognize their joint responsibility and commitment to provide, and to participate in, in-service education. The Union supports the principle of its members' responsibility for their own professional development, and the Hospital will endeavour to provide programs related to the requirements of the Hospital. Available programs will be published.
(b) Where an employee is on-duty and authorized to attend any required in-service programs within the Hospital during their regularly scheduled hours, they shall suffer no loss of pay, but such time will not be considered as time worked for the purpose of calculating overtime entitlement.
In-Service Program. A. A committee consisting of the Association's Instructional and Professional Development Committee and the Assistant Superintendent(s) for Elementary and Secondary Education, will be formed to advise the Superintendent of Schools on the planning of the in-service program, and this committee will encourage participation by the professional staff in the in-service program.
B. At the elementary level, sufficient time shall be allowed for consecutive parent-teacher conferences to be held on consecutive weeks when reporting is scheduled.
In-Service Program. A. The In-Service Program for teachers and administrators shall be augmented by the inclusion of graduate credit courses held in Brockton and conducted by professors of accredited colleges.
B. A committee, composed of one (1) School Committee member and three (3) members of the Association, shall make recommendations for the courses to be offered each semester, shall receive all applications, shall submit their recommendations to the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee, and shall make all necessary arrangements. A minimum of two (2) In-Service courses shall be offered annually. The final determination of course selection shall be made by the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee.
C. The Committee agrees to pay fifty percent (50%) of the tuition of not more than thirty (30) members of the Association provided, however, that no members will be reimbursed more than once during the period of two (2) school years. The approval of personnel selected to attend these courses shall be made by the Superintendent or his/her designee.
In-Service Program. The Employer shall be responsible for a continuous in-service program focused on improving the capability of the staff to provide the level of care required by the residents.
In-Service Program. The Hospital agrees to maintain a continuing 27 in-service education program for all nurses covered by this Agreement. At least 28 two weeks' advance notice shall be given for regularly scheduled in-service 29 education programs whenever possible. When reasonably possible, the Hospital 30 shall make in-service education programs available to nurses on all shifts. In the 31 event a nurse is required by the Hospital to attend in-service education functions 32 outside their normal shift, the nurse will be compensated for time spent at such 33 functions at their applicable rate of pay, including applicable differential, and 34 overtime, if appropriate, for hours worked.
In-Service Program. (a) The Management and the Union support the principle of In-Service education, and in employees taking responsibility for their own professional development. The employer will provide programs related to the work of the employees. Available programs will be publicized.
(b) When an employee is on duty and authorized to attend any in-service programs during their regularly scheduled working hours they will not lose regular pay.
